Sick as a Dog

Mama D has been sick...sick as a dog. Things have been on hold, and it's not just the blog.  Laundry, cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping, and all the other fun things mommies do have been on hold.  Mr. Techie has been playing the mommy role for the past few days.  Unfortunately, he is unable to keep up with all the duties of a mommy.  Fortunately, he's been doing a great job in feeding, changing, and bathing our prince.

It's hard when you're sick especially when you are breastfeeding since you have to be careful what drugs you can take.  I'm all for the natural home remedies, but I have been sneezing, sniffling, and coughing for a couple of days...I think it's time for modern medicine.

I've been trying hard not to look around the house...or else my mommy mode will go on in full force and start cleaning left and right, folding laundry, picking up toys, wiping down tables, the list goes on and on...  you know what I'm talking about.  I've been itching to go mommy mode...I'm sure you would too if this is what you have to look at...

Dishes on my dish rack have been piling up that clean dishes are surrounding the dish rack.

Dining table is being used as my "throw table".  Anything that I haven't put back but used I just throw on the dining table.

My prince's toys are all lying around the floor.  I usually pick them up every night...but not this time.

Look at all that laundry!  Ugh!!! These are actually clean clothes.  My hubby can do laundry...but only as far as putting laundry in the washer to wash and dryer to dry.  Folding on the other hand is another story.

But, that's the last thing I should be doing now...  rest and more rest is what I really need...  it's awfully hard not to think about it...  but I have to try hard to be a lazy bum until I get better.  Back to bed for me.  Yup, as you can see I haven't made the bed for a few days....it's part of being a lazy bum.

Virtual Vacation to Bali

My sister and I went to Bali, Indonesia a few years back before we both got married.  I had a desire to travel ever since I came across a quote from St. Augustine, "“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” Well...I took this to heart and I wanted to see the world as much as I can.

Going to Bali opened my eyes on how people can live simply and still be very happy.  Many people go to Bali and just to spend most of their time on the beach drinking and soaking up the sun... my sister and I decided to learn the Balinese culture.  My sister and I stayed at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.  I know...so much for simple right?  We wanted to be away from the busy touristy areas to avoid any bombing which was going on during that time.

Above picture is a path where visitors can have a picnic at the beach organized by the Ritz Carlton.  The picture doesn't do justice...it was really gorgeous.

Night atmosphere at the hotel.  This is where we ate our breakfast in the mornings.

This a  famous temple during low tide.  At high tide, the area where the people are is covered by water.

This was taken at the Lake Bratan in Bali.

No this is no food stand.  It's the town's offering to their gods.

More food offerings.
One of many rice fields in Bali.  We saw some women taking a bath in the river near by.  They really live simply.

Weekend Family BBQ

My parents had a BBQ over the weekend.  It was a blast!  The food was so AWESOME!  My mom and dad did a great job marinating and prepping all the meat before it hit the grill.  We had corn, pork ribs, chicken, and steak...oh I almost forgot we also had salad too!  After dinner the whole family walked to the neighborhood park, so our little ones can play on the swing.  Check out our pics below.

Salad with a few ingredients from my mom's garden.

The ribs were taking way too long to cook so they decided to cut it up.

I picked out tomatoes from my mom's garden to use in Cupcake's meal this week.

Mommies Day Off

Our Mom recently had to run an errand which required us to care for our kiddies the whole day.   Both Mama B and I took the day off from work and went to Santana Row to hang out together and do a little shopping.  Here are some pics of our little outing together.

I love the wonderful colors and decor they used for their front store window!

Took some pics of inside the store.  Check out the sofa which is conveniently placed.

We both love their Ceaser salad.  Their croutons are yummy!  We also ordered pizza but ate it all up before we  took a pic!
